So here I am. And I must say I am glad to be here because I almost had my head smashed in this long weekend. On Friday night we rushed up to my friend's cabin in all the long weekend rush hour and after one rock hitting my car at 100km/h and a 4 hour drive we arrived there just in time for bed. Saturday morning we woke up and relaxed in the nature, fed the horses and visited. Then, I had a great idea! I thought we should take the ATV's for a ride. My friend Serenna and I decided to ride together because she is a better and more experienced driver, so I chilled on the back. I thought we would just take it easy but NOOO everyone else thought it would be cool to ride up the side of the mountain. Not exactly beginner terrain. Anyway to make a long story short, our AVT couldnt make it up this really steep hill. Our front tires lifted off the ground and then we started flying backwards towards the trees. My friend hit the breaks to try and stop us and thats when the stupid thing flipped us over...backwards. I was in the backseat so I hit my head first and then curled up. Then I saw my friend fly over top of me and the quad hit her. I was so dizzy but she was curled up in the fetal postion just moaning. Thats when my first aid training kicked in and all I cared about was crawling down to get to her. I couldnt really see straight and one of my shoes was ripped off but I got to her. She was in a lot of pain when everyone else finally got back down to us. We got her back down the mountain on another quad but I chose to walk down...I will never get on one again. So my long weekend consisted of me spending the day in the hospital and my poor friend getting a broken pelvis and spending a couple weeks in the hospital. It was all really traumatic actually and thats why I am posting this...to get over it because its all I keep thinking about. It was so scary and Im so lucky that all I got was a concusion and some bad bruises. And before you ask...NO, we werent wearing helmuts and I HAVE learned my lesson. Maybe someone else can learn the dangers of AVT's and off roading by reading this.

1) You are gorgeous.
2) You are lucky.
3) Your friends are lucky - to have you that is.

Now, go to my room and think about what you've done.
